First United Methodist Church extends to all the hand of friendship and faith, believing every person is of sacred worth. We commit ourselves to the hospitality Jesus taught, by creating a place of safety and spiritual sanctuary for people in all stages of their faith journey.
We are enriched by people of all economic or social conditions, gender identities, sexual orientations, political affiliations, biblical interpretations, ages, racial or ethnic backgrounds, mental or physical conditions, and family structures.
We gather for worship, study, and fellowship and we disperse to spread God's love in the community. As we move toward a church of full inclusion, we will continue to engage with one another and celebrate our similarities and differences. We encourage ourselves and challenge our denomination to truly embrace "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors".
Pastor Art invites you to join us in the journey of faith. Regardless of your situation, you are welcome within our doors.
We exist to make disciples for Jesus Christ by living as faithful witnesses to prove that every person matters.
This church embraced us with open arms over 2 years ago. There is an overwhelming sense of love and compassion in our church. So many members have given our family such a feeling of belonging - a smile, a hug, conversation: our pastors are very supportive and caring. --Kris Taggart and family
Its people; its pastors; its opportunities for worshipping God; its opportunities for bible study; its opportunities to be in mission (especially the Community Garden) --Sharon Berry
If you would like to post your testimonial, please contact us using the contact form here on our website. We would appreciate hearing from and knowing what you love about your church. Thank you.
We invite you to check our new page on the history of our church under the "Our History" tab. The page includes all the former pastors and associate pastors of the church. We are looking for historical pictures of former pastors and the church (both interior and exterior). If you have any or know where some might be located, please call the church office.
Our video library now includes videos of complete Sunday services.

The health ministry will be coordinating multiple services, including a Caregiver Support Group. Another element of our program is CareNotes - booklets of suggestions for dealing with emotional challenges such as loss and grief - which will be available free of charge at the church. Also, Patti will facilitate a Visitation Team manned by volunteers. The goal of this outreach is to keep in touch with those who cannot attend church or other activities.
If you have questions or want to learn more about our ministry, you can reach us by calling the church office.
